10 Tips to crack GATE

The GATE Exam is a single paper online examination of three hours, with 65 questions (Out of which 35 Questions are of 2 Marks and 30 Questions are of 1 Mark) carrying a total of 100 marks and time duration is 3 hours.The question paper will consist of both multiple choice questions (In this 4 options are given and you have to choose one) and numerical answer type questions.

Here some tips to crack GATE:

1. Recall all concepts, formulas, methods and examples.
2. Remember the definitions, important points and formulas during the revision.
3. Focus on revising the concepts and important Questions which you have marked during your preparation.
4. Review and Solve Previous Years’ Papers.
5. Pay Emphasis to Engineering Mathematics and General Aptitude Section. These two sections can really boost up your score since they account for 30% of the exam weight age. Study these two sections thoroughly during preparation and try to attempt these questions in the early phase of the examination.   
6. Do not get Stuck on any Question for Too Long. It will waste valuable time and will lower your attempt.
7. Do not attempt Questions through Blind Guesswork. Do not make blind guesses since it will award you negative marks and will lower your score. There will be 2/3rd negative marking in 2 marks Questions and 1/3rd negative marking in 1 Mark Questions (Applicable only for MCQ’s) whereas there is no negative marking in Numerical Answer type Questions.
8. Follow Reverse Engineering principle, i.e. you can review the options to see which option fits the given question statement best.
9. Keep your mind relaxed and take proper sleep before the exam. This will help you in recollecting things during exam hours.
10. Be ready with your examination admit card and know your center before the exam day.
