Hints: For Aptitude minimum preparation is sufficient, as time is less only go for selected Qs in those books. since cut-off is only 9 its easy to complete written test, but care must be taken not to spend on only one group (i.e., either reasoning or arithmatic or english).just attempt all the Qs as there is no negative marking, such that you may be easyly qualified for aptitude test.

For technical:
As I mentioned go through that book especially - Initial theory for each chapter before going to multiple choices in that book, practice all multiple Qs in that book as max of Qs are given from that directly. Some of the subjects you must concentrate on Production and Manufacturing, Metallurgy and Material Sciences, Thermal, Design, Hydraulics. As cutoff is 23 Take care of this section, maximum disqualified from this section itself, but if u go through that its very very easy.

GD Topics:
My topic is " " RELATION BETWEEN MAFIA LEADERS AND POLITICAL LEADERS AND HOW IT EFFECT THE ECONOMICAL GROWTH OF OUR COUNTRY " ". Topics are quitely different from software interviews. ESSAR PAPER & INTERVIEW - 16 OCT 2008 - BHUBANESWAR

Hi Friends

This is RAVI GUPTA ORISSA ENGINEERING COLLEGE, BHUBANESWAR. I am  providing you selection procedure and question papers of ESSAR.

Eligiblity for 2009 passing out batch 60% in B.Tech and Date of Birth after 1-05-1986.

1st Company's  PPT.
2nd online writtten test.
3rd technical .
4th PI.

Online written Test - This is the main round you have to clear it with good marks, it will help you in the technical round so try to clear written technical with good marks.

Written paper has 4 sections:  Mathematical Aptitude, Reasoning, English, Technical.
All questions are very easy but you have to concentrate on time running on each page.

For Mathematical Aptitude : just remember the formulas of R.S AGGARWAL and solve or concentrate on Examples. This is more than enough. If you are good in calculations just concentrate at the time of test.

English: Passages are very easy and scoring, Fill in the blanks all from barron's GRE 12th edition try to remember the answers of model test papers. Synonyms Antonyms are very difficult, if you are good in English then only you can be confident otherwise hit any options as I did.

Technical questions: As this was my 3rd attempt for a core company I realized that all companys are asking mechanical questions from the book Mechanical Engineering (conventional and Objective Type)
S.CHAND writter R.S. KHURMI and J.K.GUPTA so try to remember objective as more as you can, it will help you for all campus selections.
In Essar if you perform well in written technical section then they will ask 1-2 question only in next technical round. Some of them are

Technical
no favourite paper; they ask questions from manufacturing science, fluid mechanics etc so remember definitions and procedures of mnufacturing sections
ex. which process is used for making piston, car body, engine cylinder coin etc dont bluff on any question otherwise u will be rejected

In the PI they ask very simple questions
tell me something about yourself
family background
project if any
hobbies, interest, strength etc

TIPS:
answer in simple sentences, politely they may ask in hindi also if u are not good in english and scored good in written technical

Only u have to be confident, genuine, don't bluff or guess on any question simply say i dont know sir. they are very good and genuine people dont wear any tie.
