Tech Mahindra Interview Experience - September 4th 2016

4 rounds:

Round 1: Aptitude and verbal.
Round 2: Story writing about the displayed picture.
Round 3: Technical.
Round 4: HR.

For Essay writing I got a picture consisted of well-dressed professionals standing in a line by closing their eyes. We need to write about it in 15 mins and importantly save while writing. I got a tough panel for technical round. I am from ECE. They asked to tell me about myself and to tell whether I can relocate and specified to tell the answer from heart keeping reality in mind.

Technical questions were,

1. Simple programs from Microprocessor.

2. Concepts of C, C++, data structures, linked list, stack.

3. Explain what do you know about IT.

4. Why IT?

5. What are VLSI and embedded system?

6. What is DBMS and explain the concept of it?

7. Puzzle: There are 3 switches one of them will switch on the bulb in 1st floor. I will give you one chance to switch on and one chance to go upstairs and to check the bulb. How do you identify which switch will on the bulb?

HR round was a debate between five candidates. It was a good experience.

All the best.

Tech Mahindra Interview Pattern - Bangalore 23/09/16

Actually, It is a one day process. You will be having 4 rounds. 1st round is all about aptitude.

It consists of 7 sections like Quants (11), general English 1 (20), Gen English 2 (10), passage (5), verbal and nonverbal reasoning and figures (26). Total num. of questions are 75. Each section will be having cut-off. Make sure that you clear 60 to 70% of questions in each section. Attend all the questions since there is no negative marking. Time plays a major role hence be fast in solving.

After 60 minutes, on successful submission, there appears a dialogue box saying "Congratulations you are eligible for the next round" if you clear cutoff in each section, or else "sorry, you are not eligible for next round".

2nd round is essay writing or self-imagined story of the picture given on the screen, make sure that you do not make any spelling errors and use advanced English to make it impressive. Time will be 15 min, you need to write 200 words on the given picture in stipulated time.

After that you need to wait for 30 to 60 minutes to know the results. Chances of getting rejected in essay writing are very less.

3rd round is technical interview. For CS/IT students, questions will be quite difficult and for NON-IT students, they will ask questions regarding their subjects and also about project works so far done. For that, you just need to brush up basics of your subjects.

After 30 minutes, if you clear technical round, they will inform to go to HR Interview.

4th round is HR interview. They don't ask much questions. A few like Tell me about yourself, as a non-IT student why you are choosing an IT field. Be confident, answer well. That's all.

Once you clear Aptitude, think that you are almost in. Practice R.S. Aggarwal and IndiaBix questions.

Out of 600 students, 95 people cleared aptitude and finally 63 were selected from our college.

All the best.

Tech Mahindra Interview Process - Hyderabad 09/10/2016

The exam has 7 sections each having sectional cutoff of 60%. You just have to answer 60% of the questions right and leave the rest because time division is really important. The questions are easy but do not get lured into that because what matters is only the cutoff and not your overall marks. So try to answer 60% questions in every section.

If you do so, later you are redirected to a different page where you will be asked to write an essay of about 200 words. Trust me I have written only 125 to 150 words and I got selected where in the ones who wrote 200 didn't. They do not see the length. All that matters is the content and how organized you are. 20 got select out of 150 for the essay and 10 got selected for the technical round. So essay is a mass elimination round.

Technical round was normal, he asked me java questions and told me to write a piece of code and even SQL queries. Just stick to your basics and be confident. He told me then itself that I was selected.

HR just tries to check your communication skills and fluency. Even he told me that I was selected and told me some policies related to their company.

All the best, just be confident :).

Tech Mahindra Interview Experience - Hyderabad, Oct 4th, 2016

After being rejected by almost 20-25 companies and after being 6 months free after completion of B.Tech I have attended off campus drive by Tech Mahindra. This drive is conducted in slots and my slot was at 3 p.m, but I reached there by 1'o clock and they asked me to take the online test immediately and I started my exam at 1:30.

1st ROUND:

Online written test. It consists of 7 sections with sectional and overall cutoff. There are 75 questions (50 min). 20 question are from quant covering topics like mixtures, profit & loss, percentages, and ratios. Trust me, you can solve these question with basic knowledge of maths. But other sections are tough and you need a lot of practice. Many questions are given from idioms, synonyms, antonyms, articles and puzzles. Once you crack this round you are almost 60% in.

2nd ROUND:

Pictures or quotations are given and you need to write a complete story with beginning and conclusion. I got a picture with a man slanting on a wall with his head down and other got graduation day picture and quotation like 'actions speak louder than voice'. The story we write is corrected manually so take care of tense, punctuation and spellings.

3rd ROUND:

Technical interview, this round totally depends on the panel. I am very lucky as the HR did not ask me any technical questions. He asked me to solve a puzzle and I failed to answer even after 3 attempts. He asked me some personal questions like family background, areas of interest, then he asked what do you need to think when you are a programmer. I answered in detail from requirements phase to testing and implementation. I waited for 5 min and they said that I can go for HR interview.

4th ROUND - HR:

In this round, they check your spontaneity and communication skills. The HR gave me his pen and asked me to talk about that pen. I spoke for 15 seconds, then he asked me to talk for another 25 seconds and I continued then he said that I was selected and started explaining about the package (3.2) and bond (2 yrs).

This was my success story after a lot of struggle for 1 year. Never lose the hope, be confident, see you at TechM.

Tech Mahindra Interview Process - Hydrabad, 06/10/2016

I want to tell you step-by-step process of my interview experience here.

REGISTRATION:

https://registration.techmahindra.com/Candidate/RegDefault.aspx

This link is for only 2016 pass out batch.

I've registered here and I got a Registration ID and a Pin number.

After around two months after my registration, I've received a Call-letter mail, inviting me to attend an interview process at specified venue, date and time.

I received this mail on September 27, 2016.

My interview date was on October 06, 2016 at Shamshabad, on 9:00 AM.

Three slots were being conducted on that day; 9 AM, 11AM & 1 PM Batches.

They didn't specify Interview rounds in that mail.

With the help of all your interview experiences, I've got to know about those. Thank You so much for each and every one.

I hope my short experience will also help anyone.

ON INTERVIEW DAY:

All of the students reached the venue on time. We all made to sit in an auditorium in that college for about an hour and 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, we were given a sheet and asked us to enter Registration ID, contact number and mail ID.

At around 10:45 AM, Seminar was started by TechMahindra employees through PPT.

They arranged 5-minute interaction sessions with us. They asked us to say something about Mahindra Group.

After that session completed, they themselves started explaining about the business expanded in different fields, viz; Automobiles, entertainment, defence, technology, etc. in short.

After this, they explained the whole process going to be conducted on that day.

Four rounds:

1. a) Online Test, b) Essay Writing.

2. Technical Round.

3. HR Interview.

I'll say about these rounds in detail, after completing this explanation.

Then, they arranged a PPT, showing our online exam interface. They explained our further process  while attempting that exam.

Then they asked us to go to labs for attempting that test.

AT LAB:

We were asked to occupy a system and made us wait for about an half-an-hour.

Then, one of their employees assisted us, for the further completion of login process.

1) We were asked to type a website address, narrated by them, in Google.

2) This showed a pop-up screen, for entering system login ID and system password. Those login credentials will be revealed by the employees only.

3) After we entered those, we will get a screen, asking us to enter our basic details and then those must be submitted.

4) Next screen will be our login screen, using our ID and PIN, we got at the time of registration.

5) Then, an exam ID will get generated automatically on the left side of the screen. We need to note that exam ID, for future use. [May be used at the time of our result declaration]

6) That exam ID must be entered on the left side of the screen and we need to create our own exam password too.

7) Then our exam starts, after displaying all rules, time limits.

Any system generated errors will be solved by the Company officials, who will be available to us there.

EXAM PATTERN:

KEY NOTE:

Online test, if qualified, will be immediately followed by an essay-writing test.

Online test results will be displayed on our screen itself, as soon as we submit our exam.

Sorry for failures.

Congratulations for succeeded ones.

Then, immediately essay writing starts.

TOTAL QUESTIONS - 75/70.

[I didn't concentrate on a number of questions allotted, so I'm not sure of this number. But about 70 are there, for sure]

TIME ALLOTTED - 50 MINUTES [NO NEGATIVE MARKING] and TOTAL SECTIONS -  7

Those seven sections are:

* GENERAL ENGLISH - 1 --> 7 Questions

* GENERAL ENGLISH - 2 --> 15 Questions

* VERBAL SECTION

* COMPREHENSIVE PASSAGE QUESTIONS - 5 Questions

* QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE - 11 Questions

* REASONING - 25 Questions

* NON-VERBAL REASONING - 7 Questions

~ General English - 1 contains, fill in the blanks with suitable words. Difficulty level in this section is high.

~ General English - 2 contains, fill in the blanks using suitable vowels, prepositions, completing analogous pairs, spotting a pair resembling the given pair. Difficulty level is easy.

~ Aptitude consists of Simple and compound interests (asked combinedly, for Eg. I got a question giving both simple and compound interests and asked to find any missing term in p, t, r, i, ...Hope you got my point!!, Problem on age, some simplification problems (These are mathematical expressions containing decimal or numbers and we are required to perform the given operation and evaluate the answer), Men and Work problems (Given problem is they told number of men and women working, and their overall average salaries, we need to find average of women salaries, given a suitable condition).

Difficulty level of this section is easy, all those questions need only basics. Just formulae or any basic statement/principle relating to that topics are enough to crack this section.

Whatever may be the books you may use to prepare, basics are all same in any book na?

~ Verbal section contained questions on antonyms, synonyms, similar pairs, and all other basic topics in verbal ability.

Difficulty level of this section is average. I mean to say some questions are easy to answer and some questions were hard to understand even.

So, I wish to consider this section as a difficulty one, so we shall prepare till maximum level and then we can crack this section easily.

~ Comprehensive passage is of an easy understanding level. Passage is about a country's political issues, but the questions are asked in a  straight forward way. No need for us to confuse or to select an appropriate title for it. No questions as such. Just a ques and answer can be found easily.

~ Reasoning, though at that time, we may get scared by seeing that number of questions as 25, but those are of very easy level.

Seating arrangements, given word, and need to answer another word which follows that given word rules, blood relations, questions on more arrangements.

All are easy to crack.

~ Non-verbal reasoning section contains 5-7 pics in every question and we need to find the image that does not follow the rule and we need to find the images combined so that we get the given image. Likewise,

In question images, those were named as 1234. Whereas in options they were named as abcd, I too didn't get this concept, as I'm new to these type. Hope you try to solve much, so you may get any idea of those.

They were of average difficulty...and one needs a definite practise on these type of questions.

Of all the sections, only this section consumes more time, when compared to others, because of their clumsiness. We usually take some more time in understanding their appearance, guessing those logics, etc. So, do practice in this.

EVALUATION OF THIS ONLINE EXAM:

Each and every section has a cutoff. And even, this overall exam has also a cutoff.

We need to meet both sectional cutoff and overall cutoff,in order to qualify in this section.

If we qualify, we will go to further round i.e; Essay writing.

I have disqualified here itself. So,I can't say more about other rounds, nor none of my friends were there, attending that exam.

But, I can give my experience,as per my observation.

ESSAY WRITING:

A pic will be displayed on the screen. We must write about that pic on the system itself.

BRIEF EXPLANATION GIVEN BY TECH MAHINDRA EMPLOYEES ABOUT THIS ESSAY WRITING,DURING SEMINAR:

They said that :

# 200 words must be there in our essay, for ten minutes.

# They will evaluate our essay based on Grammar, punctuation, rules, spelling mistakes rather than the content of our essay.
That's the good thing of all the rest.

# The evaluation will be done by the employees and not by the system. But we must write that essay on the system itself.

# After our essay writing round completes, all our essays will be passed onto the TechMahindra Professionals, who are all over India.

# They will evaluate our essays and decide our marks. Those marks will be forwarded to our venue. Then we will be informed about our next process, based on our result, whether pass/fail.

# The completion of whole evaluation process takes some time for about half an hour or so. After that, our essay writing results will be declared.

#The sample figure showed to us in ppt, during seminar was:

"A woman sat on a chair with her hands on the table before her. She was looking very exhausted, tired."

NEEDED TIPS FOR ESSAY WRITING:

- Select an appropriate title for that pic.

- Start explaining about the inner meaning of that pic, rather than explaining about the content of that pic and its surroundings.

- Be sure that your essay had a title, body, explanation as well as conclusion.

- I've read somewhere that, after our word limit, say 200 words in our case, reaches; system won't allow us to write more (or) when we reach word limit, we will be intimated by the system that, "Your word limit had reached. Whatever you type below this, will be truncated.".

So make sure that you follow short, precise and clear matter in your essay. Something we usually say, short and sweet type!

And I don't know about further rounds.

So, any one of you who attended the further rounds of this company, in the present year 2016, can intimate us.

Your cooperation may help others a lot.

A REQUEST:

Please post your solution if you have faced any of such, like below ones:

1) Getting an alert saying that,

"You are already registered. Please login with your ID and PIN to view/edit your application."

This alert is got to my friends at the time of Registration itself. But the thing to be noted here is, they registered themselves for the first time in that site.

* They left a mail to support Tech Mahindra, about solving this query, past two months. But still waiting for a response from them.

* Even, I've enquired at venue, but my trials were in vain.

2) Is there any chance of shortlisting our profiles for the second time, even if we failed in any one of the stages in our previous attempts?

All your solutions will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Tech Mahindra Interview Experience - P.S.I.T., Kanpur 24-09-2016

My interview experience with Tech Mahindra.

Hello everyone, I am Sakshi Gahoi and I appeared for the Tech Mahindra campus drive at PSIT, Kanpur on 24th September 2016.

The eligibility criteria was:-

-> 60% in Xth.
-> 70% in Xllth.
-> 60% in B.Tech.
-> No backlogs
-> Max 1year gap between studies

Following the above criteria, 215 candidates were eligible in PSIT.

There were 4 rounds in the selection procedure:-

1. Written exam.
2. Essay writing.
3. Technical interview.
4. HR interview.

1) The written exam:

It consisted of 75 questions to be answered in 50 mins. These 75 questions were distributed into 7 sections, each having the different number of questions and a sectional cutoff. There was an overall cutoff as well.

There were sections like,

- Verbal reasoning - 20 questions (analogies, spelling).
- Reading passage- 4-5 questions (very easy passage).
- Quantitative aptitude - around 20 questions (based on simple mathematics) .
- Figure-based questions- 5-7 questions.
- Paragraph - 5 questions (logical puzzle).
- English- 10 questions (sentence ordering, fill with correct word, preposition, pronoun).
- Non-verbal reasoning - 15 questions.

** First try to do the questions you have confidence in.
** Don't spend much time on questions that need a lot of calculation.
** You can switch between the sections, so choose the questions you do wisely.
** Try to attempt as many questions as possible as there is no negative marking.

Once you submit your written exam,
If you qualify, the screen displays "congratulations" and if not then "sorry".

Then I continued with the test.

2) The second round was the essay writing.

A random picture was displayed on the screen and we had to type an essay or story based on that picture.

The word limit is 200 words or approx 1200 characters.

** First create an outline of what you want to write, then start typing.
** Try to write about the positive aspect of the picture.
** Just keep on typing until you get a prompt "1200 characters exceeded, anything you type next will be truncated."
** They evaluate the essay on the basis of correct sentence formation, introduction-body-conclusion, spelling.

After the essay round, I was asked to wait for the results. After about an hour the results were announced. Only 61 qualified the essay round.

3) Next was the technical interview round:

After waiting for about 3 hours, I went for my technical interview at 6 o'clock.

The interview went like this,

I- Give a brief introduction about yourself.
Me- (I gave my introduction starting with my name, place I belong to, education, hobbies and interests, academic strengths and subjects of interest.)

I- Okay you know data structures, name a few data structures.
Me- (I mentioned a few data structures like linked list, stack, queue, etc.)

I- What is stack?
Me- (explained with details and a real life example)

I- What is a linked list?
Me- (explained with details and structure of linked list)

I- Can you write the code for deletion of a node from linked list?
Me- (took a sheet and started to write)

Meanwhile, he asks me if it was okay for me to be posted in Chennai. I replied with a yes and continued writing the code.

He asked about doubly linked list. I explained. He then asked about circular linked list. I explained.

Then after a few minutes, he asked for the sheet. I was still writing the code but he asked to give the sheet to him.

He went through the code. And as it was incomplete he asked me to just explain the logic of deletion of NODE.

I tried to explain but I think he was not convinced by my explanation. Then he explained that to me.

He then asked - "can we insert a node in a linked list only at front and end or anywhere?"
I answered it correctly.
He then asked the same question about arrays.
I answered.

With this, my technical interview finished and I was asked to wait for the HR interview.

After an hour, I was sitting outside the interview room with four other candidates, waiting for my turn.

Then someone told us that a set of documents along with the CV were asked for. Everyone started arranging their documents. And I was just flipping through my folder searching for the photocopies. I did not have the photocopies of any of the mark sheets. It was already 7:30 pm and the photocopy shops in the college were closed. I became very tensed and did not know what to do.

Then one of my friend told that there is a photocopy machine in the HR cell. I quickly went there, had all the photocopies done and went back to the interview room.

** Do keep two sets of photocopies of all your documents with you at the time of interview.

After waiting for another 15 minutes, I was called inside the room.

I greeted him and handed over the documents to him.

4) HR round:

HR- What does your father do?
(Answered)

HR- How many siblings do you have?
(Answered)

HR- What do they do?
(Answered)

HR- Did you not apply for Infosys?
(My sister works at Infosys)
Me- I did but could not clear the interview round.

HR- Why?
Me- I could not explain them about something.

HR- What was that?
Me- It was about the project.

HR- Can you explain that now?
Me- Yes sir.
(Explained the project
Answered a few questions related to the project)

HR- Are you overqualified or under qualified for the job?
Me- I am surely not over qualified for the job, but I can not say that I am under-qualified.

HR- Overqualified or under qualified?
Me- (I tried to explain my answer in a diplomatic way)

* This happened like for 5-6 times.

HR- I don't want diplomatic answer. Just choose one.
Me- (thought for a couple of seconds) sir I am under qualified for the job.

HR- If you are under qualified for the job, then I must not hire you?
Me- (with a smile on my face) sir that is your point of view, and it differs from mine.

HR- Then explain your point of view.
Me- Sir right now I have just come into the 4th year of B.Tech and I still have a lot to learn. So presently I am under qualified. When I complete my B.Tech and have learned skills needed in your organization, then I would be qualified for the job. And when I join your organization and complete the 6-month training program and gain a bit of experience then surely I would be over qualified for the post of a trainee.
(Still smiling)

HR- Thank you Sakshi for your time.
Me- Thank you, sir. (Left the room).

(Still smiling)

* I didn't know if I would be selected or not, but proving my point to the HR was the best part of the interview.

** Just be confident about what you say. The interviewer will push you hard that you change your answer, but you need to stay strong and stick with your views (if you believe that your views are correct).

** Smile in situations of stress.

** Answer very politely.

Tech Mahindra - 26/09/2016 , Pune

There are total 4 rounds:

1. Aptitude.
2. Story writing.
3. Technical Interview.
4. HR Interview.

Aptitude is a bit tough and preparation from RS Agrawal and IndiaBix is enough for story writing, focus on your grammar, sentence formations, tenses, spellings and punctuation marks.

A single mistake or two is understood but do not make frequent mistakes.

For Technical, prepare the basics of all the subjects related to your field.

For HR, speak fluently and be confident.

That's it!

Tech Mahindra Interview Process - Greater Noida 28/09/2016

Hi, guys!

It was an off-campus drive.

There are total 4 rounds:

1. Aptitude.
2. Picture based essay writing.
3. Technical.
4. HR.

There were 75 questions and 50 minutes to complete it. There are 1 section on quant, 3 sections on English and 3 sections on reasoning.

If you clear the aptitude, you have 70% chance to get in. Aptitude is of average difficulty and needs a lot of practice to make time management possible. Aptitude includes verbal and non-verbal reasoning, quantitative, logical, comprehension, articles, synonyms and antonyms.

Mostly problems with profit and loss, average, simple interest, compound interest, problems on ages are asked.

Preparation from IndiaBix or R.S Aggarwal is enough.

The results are declared just after the 50 minutes get over. If you clear it then a message with 'Congratulations' will appear or else a 'Sorry'.

Next round starts as soon was you finish the first. Now you have to write an essay based on the picture shown. You have to be calm yet sharp on your thoughts to get a story or a strong message out of it and make sure about tenses and sentence formation mostly and even punctuation. My topic was "Action speaks louder than words". The results are announced after 20-30 mins. It is an easy round guy just make sure to write approx 200 words on it.

Next was the technical round. The interviewer was quite frank and of good nature. He asked me to introduce myself and tell him something about my parents. Then after looking at my resume he asked why ECE? (I am an ECE student) did your parents forced you or was it your sole decision? I told him yes it was my decision. Then suddenly he asked me why I want to go into IT then, why not core company. I explained him very well. Then he asked me to rate myself in C language. I rated myself 5/10.

Then he gave me a program on pattern making. I wrote it 70% correct. Then he asked me to write another program on Fibonacci series. I did. Then another program!!!!!! about the difference of two numbers must always be positive. I did. Then he asked me some basic HR questions like are you willing to relocate? After few more questions, he asked me, any questions? Guys, please ask him a good question here it will impress him a lot. I asked him to describe success in TechM. He explained very well. Then I asked him to give feedback on me. He did and it was quite good. (He didn't ask me about my project. but do prepare it)
I cleared Technical round. After this, there is 95% possibility that you will be selected.

HR round is just like a formality. Remember guys you have to be spontaneous. But in my turn, she asked some out of the box questions.

After getting my introduction she asked me what you like about Delhi and what you dislike about it.

Then she asked me to give my opinion on Uri Attack by Pakistan!! and a solution for it. Then she asked me some GK questions like how many states are there in India and how many territories. and about current PM and President. Then she asked me about relocation and working in shifts.

After that, she asked me the final question. Are you a hard working or smart working person.

They said, everyone, that we will receive an email concerning the results. It will be the offer letter,  someone from their team said. Only 25-30 candidates went through to HR and I'm happy that I'm one of them. Eagerly waiting for my offer letter.

Tech Mahindra Interview Process - Hinjewadi, Pune 24/09/2016

Hi All,

I am Anup Chaudhari, Alumni of RCPIT, Shirpur North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon. I want to share my interview Experience with you. Tech Mahindra Conducted an open campus drive at Sharada Center (Head Office), Pune, on 12th Feb 2011. There were 3000-4000 students appeared for the test. My aptitude test was held at 7.00 pm in the evening. The Tech Mahindra's Selection procedure was so fast they try to conduct all the rounds on the same day. Aptitude test: 170 ques 80 mins Tech Mahindra's Aptitude paper is so vast. It includes 95% Verbal-Nonverbal and English part, for Maths only 8-10 ques were there.

I suggest you don't go for maths. Try the English section's last 20 -25 ques first which are easy and less time consuming. Time Management is very Crucial to crack this Aptitude. Technical Interview: I was called for the Technical Interview At 9:00 pm. Interviewer: Interviewer was so cool.

- Tell about yourself.

- Then he asked 2-3 ques on Java.

- Then he asked about project.

- Then he diverted me from technical to physics.

- Directly (This was for checking my self-confidence only) he asked me to rate myself for physics.

Then he asked me the questions like,

- Why the sky is blue? though it's a colorless.

Like 2-3 question was there.

HR Interview: It was just for formality. But they had rejected many peoples in this also. HR person asked me only the relocation flexibility and bond. (You have to sign the bond of 1 lakh for two years. You don't need to pay this money.)

All the Best, friends. See you in Tech Mahindra Ltd. Regards, Anup Chaudhari.

Tech Mahindra Interview Process - BHOPAL 27/09/2016

Hello friends,

Recently Tech Mahindra visited our college for campus recruitment for the 2017 Batch (B.Tech).

Eligible branches were CSE, ECE, CIVIL, AND MECHANICAL.

Firstly there was a pre-placement talk for about an hour, basically, they were giving details about their companies and revenue and at last also told about the exam pattern.

Exam pattern is as follows:

1) Written round which consists of 75 questions to be answered in 50 minutes.

Written is divided into 7 modules:

1. General English 1.
2. General English 2.
3. Quant.
4. Reasoning.
5. Reasoning paragraph.
6. Verbal Reasoning.
7. Non-verbal Reasoning.

Do not get tense seeing the syllabus above because questions asked were very basic. You just need to have a decent amount of practice.

Guys, please do not leave any questions as there is no negative marking, the only thing you need to manage is " BETICHOD TIME ". Yes, you got that right time management, questions are easy but require to solved in less than 50 seconds so that you will be able to do it in 50 minutes.

Tech Mahindra Interview Pattern - MESCOE Pune, 26/09/2016

Tech Mahindra conducted an off campus drive at Wadia College.

There are total 4 rounds:

1. Aptitude.
2. Picture based essay writing.
3. Technical.
4. HR.

If you clear the aptitude, you have won 80% of the battle. Aptitude is really very tough and needs practice. Aptitude consists of 7 sections including verbal and non-verbal reasoning, quantitative, logical, comprehension, articles, synonyms and antonyms.

Mostly problems with profit and loss, average, simple interest, compound interest, problems on ages are asked.

Preparation from IndiaBix or R.S Aggarwal is enough.

The results are declared as soon as you finish the test on your computer screen. If you are through it shows congratulations and if you are not it shows thank you, try next time. Guys, it's very tough so prepare well, from my batch I was the only one to clear the aptitude.

If you clear aptitude, other rounds are cakewalk for you.

Next round starts as soon was you finish the first. Now you have to write an essay based on the picture shown. Just focus on your thoughts and make sure about tenses and sentence formation mostly and even punctuation. The results are announced after 30-40 mins.

Next is the technical round. I'm an ECE student, So they asked questions about my stream and projects. Guys prepare your projects well and also whatever you have written on your resume. They will ask you everything that's written in the resume. For CS/IT, students prepare your programming well.

HR round is just like a formality, they ask about yourself and about relocation and working in shifts. They said, everyone, that we will receive an email concerning the results. It will be the offer letter,  someone from their team said. Only 30-35 candidates went through to HR and I'm happy that I'm one of them. Eagerly waiting for my offer letter.

ALL THE BEST FOR ALL OF YOU!!!

I hope my experience will help you. :-)

Tech Mahindra Interview Experience - Kolkata, 9th September, 2016

My experience was almost like anyone else's already mentioned here. However, I want to point out a few things:

1. When asked what do you like, never say coding/programming. Instead, say other things you may like, for example, gaming, etc. Else, you may be facing bizarre questions literally impossible to answer in an interview!

2. ECE students, prepare your basics of programming well. You may be asked to write the code of simple programs like factorial of a given number, palindrome number checking, and so on.

3. Theory, for non-CS/IT people, just know your basics well. For CS/IT students, learn more than that.

4. Prepare your introduction, and few questions like why IT company, why computer science, and so on. Now look, don't exaggerate here. I found people answering the question - Why CS, in this way - "Sir, not only CS, but especially Tech M, It has been my dream company, and so on. DON'T !! A 3.25 lakhs package and a company like Tech M cannot be anyone's dream company, So don't try to make the interviewer feel like he works for Google.

5. Don't be arrogant with the panel. At no point of time should it be proved that you know more than the interview, although you might know.

Tech Mahindra Interview Experience - LDRP-ITR, Gandhinagar - 7th September 2016

We were called at around 8:00 for the company presentation. It lasted for about an hour or so. Pay attention to these, and jot down whatever you feel is important.

Round - 1 (Aptitude): 75 Questions - 50 mins:

It consisted of 6-7 sections consisting of Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Logical Reasoning. Quant was easy and mostly consisted of questions from Profit & Loss and Number Systems. Verbal also had a similar difficulty level and nothing out of the blue. In Logical Reasoning there were 5 questions which were figure based and those were a little time consuming. Different sections consisted of different number of questions totalling to 75.

Round - 2 (Essay Writing): 1 Picture - 15 Minutes - 200 words - 1200 characters:

Those who clear the aptitude round were given a random picture on which a story has to be made up in 15 minutes.

Round - 3 (Technical Interview):

There were eliminations from the previous round and selected ones had to wait for technical interview.

Many were being asked about Projects in detail, yet surprisingly I was asked about more on technical side. Questions asked were pretty basic just to check if we are aware of the working or not. Questions consisted of OOPS concepts, Java, DBMS concepts, Networking concepts, etc. All the questions were very basic and easy.

I was even asked general questions in this round like What do you know about Tech M? &  Give me three good reasons to hire you.

Round - 4 (HR Interview):

This was a casual conversation between two persons yet a complex one. The HR Person was only keen to see the level of confidence and asked random questions just to check for communication skills and the approach of answering the questions. Some even said that they were asked about Political GK. Some of the questions were - What is the craziest thing you have done in your life?, where do you see yourself 5 years from now? Tell me about your family. Are you ok with relocation? etc. Some questions dealt with the intended pressure and this was just to check for our level of calmness and composure under those situations.

Overall it was a very well managed Campus Drive, and  LDRP's Placement Team did a fine job in co-ordinating and co-operating.

P.S: A common Question - Tell me about yourself in both the interviews.

Tech Mahindra Interview Experience - Chennai & 05 May 2016

Interview Experience:

Hi all, I attended Tech Mahindra off-campus in S.A Engineering College.

First Round - Online Aptitude:

There were 75 questions for 60 mins of which English - 35 and Verbal, Non-Verbal and Quantitative Aptitude - 40.

RS Aggarwal and IndiaBix is more than enough for this.

Refer topics like Idioms and Phrases, Seating arrangement, Blood relations, Series, Synonym and Antonym as far as English and verbal is concerned. For Quantitative, Ratio and preposition, Age, Average, Numerical, Profit and Loss, etc.

Results were displayed as soon as submit was clicked. 80% people are eliminated in this round.

Second Round - English Essay Writing:

The topics were general but you need to manage time well here as the time given for this round is 10 mins. But this 10 mins goes in a snap. Don't make spelling mistakes and grammatical mistakes. Use simple words. This was evaluated manually and results were announced. Elimination happened in this round as well.

Third Round - Technical HR:

This round differs from person to person but commonly was based on the details given in your resume. So read and prepare according to it. Also refer to simple programs in the language you are confident in. Understand the logic as only logic is enough if you forget the program as well.

Here also elimination happened but comparatively less than the previous rounds.

Final Round - HR:

Here just your communication, relocation and shifts flexibility were checked.

Finally, after completing this round we were asked to wait and after 3 hours our results were announced. Of 530 attended, 22 were shortlisted for the day and we were informed that a mail will be sent in 2 weeks. So waiting for it.

Prepare well.

All the best!
